Luck plays a huge role for doing great things in life they say, I partially agree. Everyone is lucky to some extent. If you weren't lucky, you wouldn't even be born. You are lucky to have survived countless potential ways one could possibly die. There are many such factors to prove how lucky we are. One thing to note is that you don't always get lucky. Sometimes others get the chance, you just have to keep working again and again until it's your turn to get lucky. You may not be lucky for the first time but if you keep going one day you will most definitely be lucky. That's why I believe that one can "BE" lucky. Also, you just need to be lucky to do great things, not extremely lucky.
Another thing to note is that luck only works when you take action. Imagine you are a salesman and you have to negotiate a deal which if closed, will make you a millionaire. Now you can't be lying on your bed and hoping that your luck will make your clients reach out to you and you close the deal. Nope, you need to be extremely lucky for that which is extremely rare. What I mean by this is you need to put in the effort for the luck to work. Think of a genie lamp, the genie won't come out and fulfill your wish unless you rub the lamp a few times. The rubbing here is equivalent to putting effort towards your work.
Mathematically, luck = f(action) | luck is the function of action, meaning: more action = more luck.
